Golang Job: OpenShift Application Engineer

Description:
As a Back End Application Engineer with OpenShift expertise, you'll play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable application solutions within containerized environments. In our Agile development environment, you'll focus on leveraging the OpenShift Container Platform to build, test, and deliver high-quality software with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using OpenShift and containerized microservices architecture.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for OpenShift-based deployments using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient application delivery.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, especially in container orchestration and OpenShift best practices.
• Lead design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for applications hosted on OpenShift.
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues in containerized environments using engineering best practices.
• Contribute to internal technology communities and promote OpenShift adoption across teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development.
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform in a production environment.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python, with strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, and GitHub.
• Solid understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for automation and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying and managing applications on OpenShift in hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with contract testing using Pact and managing Pact Broker.
• Experience with Golang and/or full-stack development (React, Node.js).
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Understanding of risk management and secure coding practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
