About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Golang Developer with prior experience at Capital One to join our engineering team in McLean, VA. Your background in financial systems, cloud-native services, and microservice architecture from Capital One will be a strong asset as we build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Golang-based backend services.

• Build and scale APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

• Collaborate with DevOps to deploy services on Kubernetes using CI/CD pipelines.

• Integrate services with cloud-native platforms (AWS preferred).

• Work cross-functionally with product, security, and front-end teams to deliver production-ready solutions.

• Apply industry best practices around code quality, testing, and performance optimization.

Required Qualifications

• Former Capital One engineer (required).

• 3+ years of professional experience in Golang development.

• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar).

• Solid experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, etc.).

• Familiarity with observability tools like Splunk, Prometheus, or Datadog.

• Strong knowledge of testing frameworks and test automation.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a FinTech or highly regulated environment.

• Background in event-driven systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS).

• Familiarity with Capital One s internal frameworks or practices (e.g., Hygieia, Cloud Custodian).

• Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
