We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Go Engineer for a financial services client. This role centers on the development and implementation of a token factory protocol built on a custom Layer 1 blockchain. You will play a critical role in designing and maintaining the foundational software modules that govern token minting, burning, and lifecycle management in a secure, enterprise-grade environment. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Go developer who has an expert level understanding of distributed systems and developing for the protocol level. The client is willing to teach domain experience. Blockchain experience is not a hard requirement.
Note: This is not a smart contract or Solidity development role. We are looking for a protocol-level engineer with distributed systems knowledge.
Core Responsibilities
Develop and maintain core blockchain modules using Go (Cosmos SDK) or Rust
Design and implement token factory mechanisms (minting, burning, control logic)
Collaborate on the architecture and optimization of the blockchain state machine
Configure and manage blockchain infrastructure (validators, genesis files, consensus parameters)
Write robust unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and documentation
Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments
Required Experience
Advanced proficiency in Go or Rust
Hands-on experience with distributed systems (beyond academic knowledge)
Deep understanding of blockchain infrastructure at the protocol level
Comfortable operating in a regulated, enterprise-grade environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Cosmos SDK and CometBFT
Familiarity with ABCI++ and IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication)
Experience in tokenization or stable coin infrastructure
Contributions to open-source blockchain projects
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95.00 - $107.00/hr.
