About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Staff Security Engineer to join our Cyber Defense team and lead the development of the next generation security platform. This platform will be instrumental in enhancing our cyber defense capabilities across security posture management, threat detection, incident response, and more. The security landscape is constantly evolving, and with the adoption of ML/GenAI backed by extensive heterogeneous data, security threats are inevitably broadened. With your deep and comprehensive expertise across major technology stacks, you will lead major efforts to design, implement and scale industry-leading security solutions for cyber defense. You are not only role models, but also empathic leaders. You are humble teachers, technically mentoring passionate engineers while also delivering uniquely challenging projects. \\-\\-\\-\\- What the Candidate Will Do ----
1. Set technical direction by identifying priorities and opportunities, managing expectations, and considering tradeoffs.
2. Empower delivery by forming actionable plans, allocating responsibilities, and maintaining productivity across engineering teams with well-defined goals and metrics.
3. Champion best software engineering practices and empower engineers to build a strong culture of quality to achieve operational excellence.
4. Participate in incident response activities to investigate security incidents, identify root causes, and develop remediation plans.
5. Leverage automation and AI to transform threat defense and response from human-driven to software-driven
\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----
1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
2. 10+ years full-time work experience in security engineering and/or software engineering
3. Hands-on experience in cybersecurity concepts, tools, and best practices
4. Proficiency in programming languages like Golang, Python or Java.
5. Great interpersonal skills, deep technical ability, and a track record of successful execution in engineering security and/or product development at scale.
\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----
1. Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
2. Experience in leading complex projects across multiple engineering organizations
3. Familiarity with the development of production services on public cloud providers (Google Cloud Platform, OCI, Azure or AWS)
4. Experience with AI technologies and frameworks and incorporating them into production systems
5. Ability to problems solve and make complex decisions with incomplete information in ambiguous situations and environments
