What to Expect

The Data Platform engineering team is looking for an SRE focused on distributed systems, Linux, API driven development, and Kubernetes to help enhance Tesla's Data Platform engineering team. You will design and develop core infrastructure components, that empower Tesla to scale faster with stability, cost and security in mind. Tesla's Data Platform team provide Tesla's big data infrastructure as a managed services. We process, store and make available data coming from all Tesla devices, manufacturing lines and various equipments making it one the biggest IOT data system in the world.

Join us and you will work alongside world-class software and data engineers on some of the newest and most challenging IoT and service engineering problems in the world today. The platform you help us build and automate will be used daily by millions of Tesla owners (and tens of thousands of Tesla employees) to improve and enhance the functionality of our cars, chargers, and batteries worldwide.

What You?ll Do

  • You will be part of a team that implements and operates global infrastructure services in the cloud, working intimately with networking, load balancing, security, and compute towards supporting fault-resilient data platform for our workloads.
  • Build systems automation and configuration management systems.
  • Work with product security and infosec on continually reinforcing product security by default.
  • You will be empowered to influence architectural decisions with a focus on security, scalability and high-performance.
  • You will author technical documentation, reference architectures, policies, and best practices for our platforms.

What You?ll Bring

  • Experience developing with Golang (or other similar languages) and writing quality tests.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes with an understanding of container architectures.
  • Expert with Linux systems.
  • Ability to take a complex challenge and deliver quality simple solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teams globally.
  • Self-driven with an analytical, first principles

    • Expected Compensation

      $104,000 - $348,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
