Tesla is seeking an outstanding software engineer to contribute to the Gigafactory Berlin, Manufacturing Test Engineering team. As a member of our team, you will shape the direction of next generation manufacturing test systems at Tesla. You must have a genuine passion for engineering products that will fundamentally change the world’s energy infrastructure and thrive working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop Automated test equipment for our revolutionary drive unit, battery pack and supercharging production lines
  • Develop novel, highly efficient re-useable software technology for teamwide adoption
  • Collaborate with electrical, firmware and mechnical product design engineers throughout product life cycle (from prooduct inception to mass production)
  • Deploy scalable softwate solutions that accelerate our transition to sustanability
  • Interact with majority of Tesla products to the point of product expertise
  • Optimize overall equipment efficiency of our machinery, maximizing production throughout
  • Directly impact product time to makret with high internal visibility resulting in high risk, high reqard scenarios
  • Travel to different facilities across the world to deploy automated manufacturing solutions
  • Produce quality results in record time
What You’ll Bring
  • Self-driven engineer capable of solving complex problems with a proactive mindset
  • Experienced in Linux operating system and command line
  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or quivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability
  • Proficient in system-level languages such as Golang, C, C++ or rust
  • Fluent in software fundamentals including architecture design, backend infrastructure, code modualarity and maintainability
  • familiar with modern distributed system technologies such as: Docker Kubernetes, Kafka Grafana
  • Mentorship experience working with junior developers is a plus
  • Being familiar with hardware communication protocols is a big plus: GRPC, Modbus, MQTT, Thernet/IP
