Your Role and Responsibilities
**Important Information**

For this scheme, the majority of our roles are based at our Hursley Labs Campus near Winchester, Hampshire. We have a handful of roles which may be based out of London (dependent on the team which is hiring). We do not have any other locations available for this scheme.

Our Software Developer Graduate Scheme covers multiple vacancies. We’re looking for people with a passion for technology and a desire to develop their skill set.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to become involved in the complete software product lifecycle, including research and design, coding, and testing, through to ongoing support.
Working with a diverse set of customers, you will be an integral part of the projects you’re involved in. Typically, our opportunities within the labs focus on the following software engineering roles:

• Software Developer (Front End)

• Software Developer (Back End, Server Systems and Cloud-based Development)

• Software Developer (Full Stack)

• DevOps Developers

• Automation Development and Testing

During your time on the scheme, you will be supported by an Early Professional Manager (EPM) to help you manage your career, your EPM works alongside your Line Manager, mentors, and your fellow team members to help you get the most from this opportunity.

As well as the above, you will also have access to a vast number of educational resources and can complete qualifications which help support your chosen career path. You will be encouraged to join various projects outside of your day job such as hackathons, open source, and giving back to the community, to help contribute to your growth and development.

No matter what your degree background is, we are looking for someone with a demonstrated passion for technology, and the aptitude and desire to develop their skills and career, surrounded by master inventors & innovators.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• You will have obtained, or be on track for a minimum 2:1 or above in your degree
• Knowledge and experience of at least one of the following languages: Java, Javascript or Golang
• Knowledge and experience of the following Cloud Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
• Knowledge and understanding of Agile Practices

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate well in a team environment
• Ability to take initiative.
