The Role

At Bango, you have a fantastic opportunity to contribute to Bango product innovation and evolution, contributing to development of new product features as well as supporting operational and implementational needs for the business and the Bango customers. You will be a junior software engineer as part of a multi-role team collaborating with other software engineers and QA automation engineers with opportunities to work cross-functionally with other departments. You will be hungry to learn, willing to get stuck in in areas unknown to you, take things on outside of your comfort zone, willing to experiment.

Responsibilities

• Works as part of agile team to develop new functionality in Bango products
• Builds APIs for partners to interact with the Bango Platform under guidance of more experienced software engineers
• Writes code and automated tests for new solutions, under guidance of senior software engineers
• Refactors, optimizes and fixes defects in existing code base
• Be involved with reviews of team members code

Essential skills and experience

• Experience in C#, Golang or Java or willingness to learn
• Commercial Experience in a software development environment
• Good analytical mind with problem solving skills, on your own or brainstorming with colleagues
• Passionate about technology and enthusiastic, capable of hitting the ground running.
• Strong communication skills, both spoken and written
• Fully eligible to work in UK

Desirable skills and experience

• You may already have experience of some of the following or be looking for the opportunity to work in these areas. Your drive to acquire new skills is equally as important to us as your ability to demonstrate existing experience of these technologies;
• Working experience with C#, Golang or Java
• Design skills using DDD, OO and Design Patterns
• Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL Server, MySQL, Couchbase or DynamoDB.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Google or Azure
• Understanding and working knowledge of continuous integration/delivery
• DevOps appreciation with container technology Docker, Kubernetes
