The Pre-Sales Consultant works within our Dell Technologies Services (DTS) business unit and is responsible for leading the IT Transformation services solution definition in close alignment with the Services Sales, Services Delivery, Solution Partners and in collaboration with the broader account teams to position the Dell solution that best meets customer requirements and expected outcomes. IT Transformation services at Dell cover a wide range of technologies and solutions and span across our Consulting, Deployment, Residency, Support and Managed services, all aligned with our product portfolio (Storage, Data Protection, Servers, Converged/Hyperconverged infrastructure, Network) and our partner eco-system´s solutions.

What you’ll achieve:

In this senior services pre-sales role you will work with existing Dell customers across EMEA or prospects. With your IT Automation & IaC subject matter expertise in IT Transformation services pre-sales, you will delight our customers, partners and internal stakeholders. You will create credibility for Dell Technologies Services, provide thought-leadership and evangelize regarding our Dell Technologies Services brand. You will contribute to successfully sell Dell Technologies solutions and overachieve our services sales plans.

You Will:

  • Engage in highly complex accounts and will lead the development of customer presentations up to C-level management, workshops, executive briefings, requirements gathering, solution design, Services responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOW) creation and review, effort estimation. Act as the Services Pre-Sales solution owner and contribute to the sales pursuit strategy, support deal negotiation and closure and transition of work to the delivery organization through appropriate practice management.

  • Articulate the IT transformational journey in both business value and technology terms with a focus on use-cases for Automation transformation in the context of Multi-Cloud, Data Center and Business Resiliency infrastructure, people and processes.

  • Be part of an EMEA team of Pre-Sales Consultants and work on opportunities across EMEA. You will work in an international, multi-cultural environment. Beside of being engaged on opportunities and sales programs you will also work with our services portfolio team, enablement functions and the broader, regional, Pre-Sales Consultants community.

  • Be recognized for your Services solution pre-sales subject-matter expertise and thought-leadership for IT Automation & IaC.

Here’s what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements

  • 10+ years experience of acting as a customer facing solution lead, pre-sales consultant, solution architect (or similar) and proven skills and experience in constructing and tailoring services solutions (requirements gathering, scope services, assemble effort estimates, plan programs and work packages, write SoW, answer RFI/RFP) for customers, typically in the large Enterprise and/or Government Sectors. Thorough understanding of a services P&L and cash flow development (including business impact), risk analysis and commercial models such as Fixed Price, T&M and incorporation of 3rd party contracts.

  • Expert level experience in IT transformation including Multi-Cloud & Data Center solutions, Virtualization, Automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, DevOps, Cloud Native and integration into existing IT environments and proficient in multiple service areas and technologies

  • Experience of managing large scale transformation projects using agile management techniques such as Scrum and Kanban. Experience with Value Stream Mapping techniques and how to apply them to improving customer processes. Understanding of continuous improvement and value creation using Lean principles and techniques. Excellent understanding of infrastructure automation using DevOps and IaC principles and techniques. Excellent knowledge of diverse IaC use-cases from a business and technology outcome perspective.

  • In Dell we see IaC as the process of using software engineering practices for managing and provisioning data centre components (bare metal, VMs, containers, etc.). Excellent knowledge of IaC frameworks, CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g. Jenkins, Concourse, Git, GitOps, vSphere, Containers and Container management), programming/scripting (e.g. API, JSON/YAML, TDD, Python/Golang/Powershell/groovy, Bash Shell, Unix), provisioning and configurations tools (Ansible, Terraform), State Management, Service Discovery (e.g. Consul), Password/Secrets Management (e.g. Vailt), integration in Service Catalogues and Management Platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, vRA, vRO)

  • Exceptional consulting skills, including methods, tools and techniques to apply within an IT transformation context; excellent presentation and communication skills at least in English (verbal/written); ability to work across EMEA in an international environment (physical/virtual)

Desirable Requirements

  • Hands on experience, automating the provisioning and configuration of large-scale infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of Dell Technologies´ product and services portfolio.
