Golang Job: Back End Engineer

I am currently looking for a skilled backend developer for my client based in the city of Keel, North of Germany.

What they do: - They build cloud-based platforms and AI-powered tools that support organizations in the fields of environmental protection and maritime research. They are making data toolsets and complex processing pipelines accessible to as many people as possible, enabling researchers to share data and insights and creating synergies. They want to drive technological progress. They are conducting research in AI projects with various partners, and are the driving force behind one of the first major consortiums in the European GAIA-X initiative.- Their funding comes from research grants, public funding from European, federal, and state-level institutions, as well as commercial partners and customers.

Tasks

What you will do:

• You will create (micro-)services in Golang and work on a new backend API
• You coordinate your work closely with your team of designers, frontend developers, DevOps engineers, business analysts, project managers.- As well as building new features, you will optimize and maintain existing parts of our applications.
• Testing and code reviews will be an integral part of your daily work.

Requirements

What you should bring:

• You have 5+ years of experience in software development.
• You have professional working experience with Golang, SQL databases and NodeJS and you see a Docker and Kubernetes environment as part of your daily routine.
• If you have experience with Bazel, that’s a plus.
• You value the importance of communication with your team.
• Working with fixed deadlines and sometimes under time pressure motivates you.
• You can work on tasks efficiently and independently, but you also know when a problem requires more discussion or clarification with your team.
• You are curious and happy to learn about new techniques and technologies when required.
• You are comfortable working in an international team where English is the primary language of written and spoken communication.

• 55k-65k Base salary per annum

• A weekly hybrid working model of 2 days in the office and 3 days working remotely
