Golang Job: Engineer Manager

ABOUT THE TEAM :

The charter of this team is to build Location Intelligence products that help Swiggy build a better understanding of the real world and enable hyperlocal optimizations that significantly improve customer experience, growth and profitability for Swiggy. We are looking for strong, highly motivated, independent engineers and data scientists, who are excited about working with large scale geo-spatial data and AI (ML and Deep Learning) to enable Location Intelligence. The technology solutions built by the Location Intelligence Team are at the heart of Swiggy’s ability to deliver food to customers.

The team’s charter encompasses various aspects of hyperlocal Location Intelligence, built using our internal data. This includes points of interest, metadata for POIs, addresses, routes etc. With Swiggy’s unparalleled hyperlocal density, our Location Intelligence and Data Sciences team leverages the travel time/route data of delivery partners currently delivering orders, to predict accurate delivery distance and ETAs. High quality location intelligence is essential to help delivery partners navigate to the precise customer location and to provide live tracking of the order status and driver journey to customers. This ensures a great experience for customers and for delivery partners.

• Engineering Manager at Swiggy will work closely with the Product Management, Business Development, Design and Operations teams, enabling them by providing scalable and high-quality technology solutions at a rapid pace. They co-own the technology vision of the respective team and significantly contribute to the overall success of the team
• Work closely with Product, Data Science and Product Ops teams for developing and validating location intelligence data.
• Building Swiggy's own routing network with frequent updates to handle all kinds of routing queries for Swiggy's various businesses
• Building highly scalable GPS ping ingestion and serving systems to optimize our hyperlocal logistics, as well as provide smooth order tracking to customers
• You will manage your business goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team
• Create clear career paths for team members and help them grow
• Architect & design technically robust, flexible and scalable solution
• Set up best practices for development and champion their adoption and at the same time

• 
  7-10 years of experience in developing products with at least 1 year in leading a team
• In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of front-end and back-end engineers to drive innovation in full-stack product development, while relentlessly improving performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Technically Hands-on, Prior experience with scalable Architecture managing team of (5-8)
• Coaching, mentoring engineers at various stages of their career. Good team management skills with ability to multitask, strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience working with Product Managers and UX Designers
• Experience with web technologies, Golang/Java, grpc, Apache Kafka, Redis, RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Docker, distributed caches, Apache Spark, etc.
• Experience with high performance websites catering to millions of daily traffic is a plus with an ability to bring in software engineering life cycle best practices
• Experience in the geospatial/location intelligence domain and relevant open source technologies is a plus
