Golang Job: Senior Back End Engineer

McMakler currently boasts a team of 50 engineering professionals including development, product, design and QA. In our agile Scrum set-up, we follow the Spotify model in order to allow our engineers to take ownership of the entire development life cycle regardless of what discipline they are in. Each Chapter consists of around 8 specialists, including backend as well as frontend developers, one product owner, Scrum Master, and QA specialists alongside UX/UI designers. This way, the interdisciplinary cooperation and coordination facilitates an autonomous working environment where each team member has the chance to grow with a high degree of freedom.

Aufgaben

We are looking for an experienced backend engineer who takes pride in the craft and wants to be part of a team of talented specialists working to further McMakler's growth. You will have ownership over the entire software development lifecycle while creating and supporting our current microservice architecture to develop a highly distributed, massively scalable backend.

• Design, build and maintain reusable and efficient code for our Golang-based microservices
• Do code reviews on a regular basis and support your team members across the development lifecycle
• Manage your own workflow and prioritize tasks as you see fit to meet the deadlines and successfully deliver stable applications on a regular basis
• Ensure feasibility of development and continuously improve our scalable backend systems
• Collaborate with a team of smart, friendly engineers to develop solutions unique to the real estate industry
• Develop company and product expertise through cooperation with different stakeholders from several Product and Scrum teams

Qualifikation

• You have experience developing mission-critical, reliable, and performant systems
• Experience in building and deploying microservice architectures
• 3+ years of experience with either Golang and/or NodeJS
• You are familiar with Docker (additexperience with Kubernetes is a big plus)
• Previous experience working with gRPC or REST
• You have a „Clean Code“ mentality
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and cross-functional teams is a bonus
• Highly proficient in both spoken and written English, basic knowledge of German is a plus
